Salomé Cousseau Table Top Sculpture – Legea

Âme Atendre’s exquisite table top sculptures are handcrafted by the exceptionally talented French artist Salomé Cousseau. Her whimsical statement pieces are brought to life using a combination of furniture and jewelry making techniques and each piece is truly one of a kind.

This remarkable piece features a meticulously hand-carved walnut base, elegantly adorned with a coiled gold-plated brass chain. Weighing 0.65 lbs, the sculpture resembles a woman of the Kayan tribe in Myanmar, renowned for wearing brass coils around their necks. A striking fusion of cultural resonance and contemporary artistry, this piece of art makes for a very special unique gift.

Each of Salomé’s sculptures represents her creative journey by train to the picturesque French countryside. Working out of her wood shop, she begins by painstakingly shaping  the intricate base of each piece utilizing unprocessed and sometimes salvaged hardwoods. These half complete pieces then accompany Salomé on her train ride back to Paris.

In her home studio, Salomé delicately embellishes each sculpture with carefully selected stone beads and metal studs. The result is a harmonious blend of artistic expression and masterful craftsmanship, with each sculpture bearing the unique imprint of its creator and her journey.

Ashley Gould, the founder of Âme Atendre, was captivated by Salomé’s ability to strike a beautiful balance between refinement and expressiveness, a balance that the brand aims to strike with all its offerings.

Having personally connected and forged a relationship with Salomé, we are thrilled to bring her extraordinary creations to the Âme Atendre community. Each of Salomé’s pieces of art is a manifestation of her passion and creativity.
