Salomé Cousseau Table Top Sculpture – Cubi Cornaline

Âme Atendre’s collection of one-of-a-kind table top sculptures were proudly designed and created by French artist Salomé Cousseau. She creates her whimsical statement pieces by combining furniture and jewelry making techniques. Each piece is unique and cannot be found anywhere else.

The Cubi Coraline features a hand-carved sapelli wooden base adorned with carnelian stone beads and brass golden plated studs. It weighs 3.7 ounces and stands at a dainty three inches in height.

Salomé begins the creation of each piece by boarding a train and heading out to the idyllic French countryside. She goes into her woodshop and crafts the highly intricate base of each piece using unprocessed, often salvaged, hardwoods. Once an initial batch of pieces are completed, she heads back to Paris to work in her home studio. She then incorporates metal studs and stone pendants into each piece, drawing inspiration from her jewelry background. Ultimately, each sculpture that she creates has a distinct character and personality that reflects its careful construction and journey across France. 

Âme Atendre’s founder, Ashley Gould, was immediately drawn to Salomé ‘s work. Her expressive and refined sculpture technique is a balance that we aim to strike with all of our products. We were delighted to meet Salomé in Paris and we are proud to offer her one-of-a-kind artwork that we admire so much. We are very excited to introduce her artistry to the Âme Atendre community.
